Demo #1
This is a picture that was taken just after a spray of glass cleaner. Normally, there is not
that much natural moisture in the air but this is an artificial representation.
This is actually a picture of a star. The digital camera setting was set with a shutter
delay used for night shots. Slight movement using free-hand photography results in a
weird traveling like movement of an object. If you use the delayed setting, ALWAYS use
a tripod. A tripod will minimize or eliminate movement of an object in a picture.
Demo #2
Demo #3
This is a video clip using a MiniDV camera. At the bottom right of the screen you will see
a flashing light come towards the camera. This is a bug. The infrared light that is
shining from the camera reflects off of the flapping wings of the bug as it is flying,
creating a flashing effect.
                                       Debunking

Within our group at A.P.I. , we hold a strict and high standard of what evidence we present to our clients. We
have been questioned about photographing orbs and other anomalies captured on still photography. It is a
reminder that our main focus is to disprove claims of paranormal activity and what can not be explained might be
considered paranormal. Still photography, like other techniques, is susceptible to criticism of authenticity.
Pictures of orbs can be very debatable considering natural atmospheric conditions. It is our belief that when a
spirit manifests itself, a collection of energy emitting a "sphere" shape of light (energy) is an acceptable definition
of paranormal activity. The only problem is that there are more ways to disprove this theory than there are ways
to justifiably prove it.  We are all constantly surrounded by dust, moisture, and other particles that are hard to
recognize with plain human sight. When you capture an odd shape in a photograph,  your first reaction is to
think "that wasn't there when I took the picture". That is why we have the "investigator" mentality of noticing out
of the ordinary things, but we have to remember logic and reason and apply that to our investigations. A full
body apparition caught in a picture that was not physically there at the time would be worth looking in to further,
but considering the relations between orbs, dust, moisture, and other particles...we need to think practically and
not present evidence that we are about 50% sure about. Listed below are a couple tests to represent some of
the "paranormal" claims in photographs that are just natural causes or human error with photography.
